About Janet & Sandy

Brown Fairthorne Theatre Projects is an independent Australian theatre company, established in 2009 by Janet Brown and Sandy Fairthorne to nurture and produce our own plays. Collaborating with directors, actors and other theatre workers, we create moving and memorable theatre experiences.

Janet Brown has been writing professionally since the early 1990s and writing for theatre since 2000. “Dolly Stainer” of Kew Cottages was presented by La Mama in 2006, produced by Soul Theatre Inc and directed by one of Australia's most esteemed directors, David Myles. The production was listed for VCE Theatre Studies and the script published by Currency Press. With Joanne Ryan she co-wrote “A Hole in the Ground”, presented by La Mama in 2004, also directed by David Myles and supported in development by the Melbourne Theatre Company.
“One Plain, One Purl”, a winner in the 'Write Stuff Competition' 2004 was produced by Anglesea Performing Arts Inc & Torquay Theatre Troupe in 2005. In 2007 it was performed as a radio play.
